چکیده
Abstract Aim Though contraindicated in some respiratory laboratories due to a perceived increased risk of aneurysm rupture, pulmonary function tests (PFT) and cardiopulmonary exercise (CPET) are used commonly preoperative assessment patients with abdominal aortic (AAA) considered for elective repair. We examine whether PFT/CPET associated AAA rupture risk. Methods A retrospective analysis prospective database ≥50mm who had PFT/CPET/both as part their from November 2012 December 2020 single vascular hub before repair (open/endovascular). Patients <50mm, or those did not have preoperatively were excluded analysis. Baseline demographics, size, type repair, time rate 30-day post-operative mortality presented. Results total 410 (mean age 74 ± 8 years, 361 (88%) male) included the The mean size was 63 ±11mm. 350 (85%) underwent endovascular 220 (53%) PFT, 69 (17%) CPET remaining 121 (30%) both preoperatively. median 36 days (IQR 48 days), no this cohort. 3%. Conclusions This study strongly suggests that PFT therefore safe assessing without adding pre-operative

Abdominal aortic aneurysm and risk of rupture.
370 residents of Rochester, Minnesota, with clinicallyrecognized unruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), were identified through record review. The rolling entry period was 1951-1984. Of these 181 had at least one documenting ultrasound. Five persons had rupture of the aneurysm within 48 hours of the ultrasound exam, and were excluded from the study. The study group consisted of the remaini...

Objectives: The purpose of this research is to determine the quantitative relationship between the peak wall stress of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and its clinical risk factors including its maximum diameter, asymmetry index, wall thickness and abnormal high blood pressure. Methods: The response surface experimental design with one response and four variables was used to design the experime...
متن کاملRupture of a giant abdominal aortic aneurysm
We admitted a 76-year old male person with a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was immediately brought to the emergency room (ER). The blood pressure was 80/40 mmHg, HTC less than 0.17. We decided to perform an emergent CT angiography wich verified referral diagnosis. The ruptured AAA was 12 cm in diameter. An emergent life saving operation had to be done so the patient was brought to the ...
متن کاملSpontaneous rupture of adrenal haemangioma mimicking abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture
Serious bleeding from a ruptured adrenal mass limits preoperative diagnostics and can necessitate urgent laparotomy to control blood loss. A 45-year old man underwent an emergency laparotomy due to severe retroperitoneal haemorrhage causing hypovolaemia. Detailed retroperitoneal dissection after splenectomy and clamping of the abdominal aorta revealed bleeding from a ruptured haemangioma of the...
متن کاملRisk stratification by pre-operative cardiopulmonary exercise testing improves outcomes following elective abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery: a cohort study
BACKGROUND In 2009, the NHS evidence adoption center and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published a review of the use of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). They recommended the development of a risk-assessment tool to help identify AAA patients with greater or lesser risk of operative mortality and to contribute to mortality predi...
